Opera scene from the movie Hannibal
August 19, 2008One of the most beautiful, and creepy, scenes from Ridley Scott’s Hannibal.
The three things that strike me in this scene are:
- The beautiful view of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. The yellowish color of the scene is typical of the filming style of Ridley Scott.
- The opera displayed is the most moving, most beautiful piece of opera I’ve ever seen and heard. It is called “Vide Cor Meum” and was composed by Patrick Cassidy. (Scott also used it in Kingdom of Heaven.)
- The subtelty of the scene between Hannibal, the commissioner and his wife. Three very good actors if you ask me.
Enjoy!
